Orientation - 5 minutes
The first principle of Organic Intelligence: the body is an intelligent, self organising system which when given time will shift its way back to safety, healing and homeostasis.
This exercise uses our visual system to calm the triggered stress response by ‘seeing’ no threat within the environment. By simply looking around the room and following where our eyes want to wander we survey our surroundings to feel calm and connected.
My experience. It’s that easy!! I use it frequently when my body system feels overloaded. Too much screen or general stimulation (headaches) or stressful conversation with another.
My suggestion: Whenever you need, daily, frequently, in the moment to bring calm and resource.
